Malayalam director Chidambaram S. Poduval, who captivated audiences with the true survival story ‘Manjummel Boys’ starring an impressive ensemble cast including Soubin Shahir and Sreenath Bhasi, earning extensive accolades worldwide, is now set to make his Bollywood debut. Before this, he made his directorial debut with ‘Jan.E.Man’ (2021). Chidambaram amazes his fans by joining hands with Bollywood’s production house, Phantom Studios.
The two-year-old filmmaker is reaching new heights, transitioning from South Indian cinema to Bollywood. Phantom Studios, known for backing hit films and series like Lootera, Hasee Toh Phasee, Maasan, Queen, Manmarziyaan, Super 30, Sacred Games, Jubilee and more, announced their tie-up with Chidambaram on social media.
Sharing the filmmaker’s picture, the caption read, “Here’s to new beginnings. We’re thrilled to commence a new collaborative journey with the immensely talented @__chidambaram__! He’s made his mark in the south with his unique vision and storytelling prowess, and we’re excited to work on his debut in hindi cinema!”
They further added, “Phantom has always leaned towards pushing concept driven stories and empowering creative oriented directors, and Chidambaram’s creative vision aligns perfectly with our ethos. He has smashed box office records with Manjummel Boys, and we’re excited to see the magic we make together.”
Chidambaram started his career as an assistant director to filmmaker Jayaraj and also worked in cinematography with Rajeev Ravi and K. U. Mohanan. This collaboration between a Bollywood production house and a Mollywood director is a delightful surprise for the audience, with more details to be announced shortly.
