Photo of Darshan smoking in jail leaked, raising concerns about possible special treatment. See leaked photo and video below!

A recent leak has surfaced online showing a photo of Darshan smoking a cigarette inside jail, raising questions about possible special treatment. Darshan Thoogudeepa, who was sentenced in June along with 11 others for his involvement in the murder of Renuka Swamy from Chitraguda, appears to be receiving VIP treatment in prison. The leaked photo shows Darshan enjoying tea and a cigarette in a prison yard with others, including gangster J Nagaraj alias Wilson Garden Naga.

The photo of Darshan smoking a cigarette in jail has sparked outrage among the public. The image shows him sitting with a tea cup in one hand and a cigarette in the other, while smiling with fellow inmates. This has led to concerns about the conditions and privileges are being afforded to him while he is under judicial custody involvement in a murder case.

In addition to the photo, a video has also gone viral, showing Darshan Thoogudeepa video calling from within the prison. The 25-second video begins with a man in a yellow t-shirt answering a call and then passing the phone to someone sitting, which happens to be Darshan. The actor is then seen greeting the man on call who inquires if he had anything to eat and the actor nods and exchanges a few words before ending the call. The video, however, shows a brightly lit room with curtains and clothes, raising questions about its authenticity and the conditions inside the prison.

The prison authorities are aware of the leaked photo of Darshan smoking a cigarette and the video. An inquiry has been ordered by the Director General of Police (Prisons) to investigate these allegations of special treatment.

Renuka Swamy’s father has expressed his frustration with the ongoing investigation, saying, “Though we trust the state police, it is disheartening to see that the accused seem to be enjoying special privileges. We believe a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry is necessary.”

Karnataka Minister G Parameshwara has now reacted on this matter, saying, “Yesterday evening our officers went and inquired. 7 officers were kept under suspension. This is a lapse. This should not be repeated. We also have some responsibility.”

The case against Darshan Thoogudeepa and 17 others fall into place after CCTV footage of Darshan’s car was released, showing it near the location where Renuka Swamy was murdered. Renuka, who worked at an Apollo Pharmacy in Chitradurga, had allegedly sent inappropriate messages to Pavithra Gowda, a friend of Darshan’s. Renuka’s body was found in a canal near Kamakshipalya, Bengaluru, with Darshan reportedly present at the scene.
