On June 25, as Karisma Kapoor celebrates her birthday, younger sister Kareena Kapoor Khan took to Instagram to share a deeply emotional note. It’s been a difficult year for the Kareena-Saif and as well as for Karisma Kapoor – with Karisma losing her ex-husband Sunjay Kapur on June 12 and Saif Ali Khan undergoing surgery after a knife attack earlier this year.
Taking to Instagram, Kareena aka Bebo posted an old unseen picture of Karisma Kapoor with Saif, calling it her “most favourite picture of you both.” In her touching message, she wrote, “To the strongest and the bestest girl in the universe… It’s been a tough year for us…”
Kareena continued, reflecting on how the year tested their strength. “But you know what… as they say, tough times don’t last… the toughest sisters do…” she wrote. In the post, she described Karisma not just as a sister but as her “mother, my best friend,” and signed off with love: “Happy birthday My Lolo.”
The bond between the Kapoor sisters has always stood strong beside eachother and this year it’s been more visible than ever. Both Kareena and Saif were seen supporting Karisma during Sunjay Kapur’s final rites and the prayer meet held days after, hoping between Delhi and Mumbai.
Sunjay Kapur, Karisma’s ex-husband and father to her children Samaira and Kiaan, passed away during a polo match in England. Several reports revealed that he suffered a heart attack after a bee flew into his mouth, blocking his windpipe. His funeral was held on June 19, followed by a prayer meet on June 22.
Kareena’s message is a reminder of how emotional strength and close family ties help us face difficult times. Through this touching tribute, she celebrates not just Karisma’s birthday but the bond that keeps them together no matter what.
