Millie Bobby Brown popularly known for her role in Stranger Things, has taken stand against media scrutiny regarding her recent appearance made on upcoming film ‘The Electric State’ premiere.

In a powerful Instagram post, the 21-year-old actress called out several articles by names that criticized her looks, calling the coverage “disturbing” and labeling it as “bullying” – that has targeted her as she’s grown up in the public eye. Starting her career at just 10 years old, Millie Bobby Brown shared how the world seems unwilling to accept her natural growth saying, “People can’t seem to grow with me. Instead, they act like I’m supposed to stay frozen in time, like I should still look the way I did on Stranger Things Season 1. And because I don’t, I’m now a target.”

Millie didn’t just stopped there, further she called out specific articles and journalists by name. She mentioned pieces like “Why are Gen Zers like Millie Bobby Brown ageing so badly?” and “What has Millie Bobby Brown done to her face?” She also highlighted how some writers including women have been part of this. “This isn’t journalism. This is bullying,” she wrote. “The fact that adult writers are spending their time dissecting my face, my body, my choices, it’s disturbing.” And Millie made it clear she won’t apologize for growing up. “I refuse to make myself smaller to fit the unrealistic expectations of people who can’t handle seeing a girl become a woman,” she stated. She also questioned why society finds it easier to criticize than to compliment, asking, “Why is the knee-jerk reaction to say something horrible rather than to say something nice?”

Her post resonated with fans and fellow celebrities, who flooded the comments with messages of support. Many praised her for speaking out against the toxic culture of criticism. One fan wrote, “We’re proud of you for being true to yourself. Keep shining!”

On the work front, Millie Bobby Brown is set to star in the upcoming film The Electric State releasing soon.
