Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff, who once ruled the box office with his action-packed films seems to be going through a testing phase. Just as Baaghi 4 hit theatres on September 5, the actor sold his luxury apartment in Mumbai’s Khar for the hefty price of ₹15.60 crore. While the sale brought him a profit of nearly 31%, it has also sparked conversations about whether the actor is slowly stepping back as his career struggles to regain its earlier momentum.
As per documents reviewed by Square Yards, Tiger had purchased the apartment in Rustomjee Paramount back in 2018 for ₹11.62 crore. The property which is located on the 22nd floor spans nearly 2,200 sq ft and comes with three car parking spaces and reportedly the buyer whose name is Sandeep Saraf, also stays in the same building. Alongwith the sale, Sandeep Saraf paid a hefty stamp duty of ₹93.60 lakh and registration charges of ₹30,000.
Despite opening with ₹30 crore in its first weekend, Baaghi 4 saw an unusual dip in collections soon after, showing how Tiger’s stronghold over the audience is weakening. In recent years, his films like Heropanti 2 and Ganapath have also underperformed, raising questions about the actor’s choice of projects and repetitive action roles.
Tiger Shroff being the son of veteran superstar Jackie Shroff, had made a stellar debut back in 2014 with Heropanti and was soon hailed as Bollywood’s new action star. His unmatched stunts and dance moves earned him a massive fan following. However, with back-to-back box office setbacks industry watchers believe he needs to reinvent himself beyond the action-hero image.
Whether this property sale is just a financial move or a reflection of bigger career changes is something only time will tell. But one thing is clear Tiger Shroff is at a crossroads and his next steps may decide where his career heads from here.
