Indian2BoxOffice: Directed by S. Shankar, the much-awaited Tamil film “Indian 2,” featuring Kamal Haasan, was released in theaters on July 12. As a sequel to the legendary 1996 vigilante movie “Indian,” it came with high expectations. Unfortunately, the film received mostly negative reviews. Despite this, “Indian 2” had a robust opening at the box office. However, instead of gaining momentum, it experienced a decline over the weekend but still managed to cross the 50 crore mark domestically.

Indian 2 Box Office Collection Day 3
Starring Kamal Haasan, the action thriller film, Indian 2 registered a solid box office opening worth, ₹ 25.6 Cr. However, unlike the expected growth, the film registered a significant drop at the box office during the weekend. After a solid opening the film saw a massive drop on Saturday earning ₹ 18.2 Cr, the film dipped further on Sunday earning ₹ 15.35 Cr. However, despite the fall, Indian 2 managed to cross the 50cr mark, as of now the film currently stands at a domestic box office total of approx. ₹ 59.15 Cr.

Indian 2 also faced tough competition with Akshay Kumar starrer “Sarfira” which was also released on 12 July and Prabhas starrer “Kalki 2898 AD” which was released back on 27 June but is still running in the theatres with no signs of slowing down.

“Indian 2,” the sequel continues the story from its prequel, focusing on Senapathy, a former freedom fighter turned vigilante, as he returns to fight corruption. Joined by a young ally exposing corrupt politicians online, Senapathy responds to public demand for justice.
