Himanshu Jangra’s Former Boss Speaks Out After Terminating Him Over ₹370 Biryani Remark: “Things Were Offensive…”

The ₹370 biryani controversy continues to spark debate online. Now, Himanshu Jangra's former employer has revealed what happened inside the company, why clients stepped back and the reason behind the difficult decision. Know everything in detail below.

The controversy surrounding Himanshu Jangra’s viral ₹370 biryani remark continues to generate discussion online. After facing outrage over his viral comments made during comedian Pranit More’s Gurugram show, Jangra lost his job at a Gurugram-based design and marketing company.

Now, company founder Vivek Vishwakarma has explained why that major decision was taken.

Speaking up about the incident with India Today, Vivek said he initially did not pay much attention to the viral clip because he was busy with work. However, once the controversy grew and messages began flooding the company’s social media pages, he decided to watch the video himself.

While he admitted the remarks were offensive, he also said the version of Himanshu seen in the clip was very different from the employee he knew at work. “Things were offensive, but that was not the person that I knew at the workplace — that was a totally different personality. I know his mindset. He is quite a good employee,” Vivek shared.

According to Vivek, an internal review was conducted and no complaints were found regarding Himanshu’s workplace behaviour.

But the founder further revealed that the situation quickly began affecting the company itself and said, “Every post got 100s and 10000s bad comments. Few clients whom we were in talk with also stepped back so my work was getting hampered.” He further added that people were associating the company with the viral controversy which created challenges for a business that relies heavily on its online presence and social media reputation.

Vivek described the decision as a business call, saying, “Yes, yes, yes, totally, totally. It was a business decision for myself, my brand.”

During the conversation, Vivek also felt that the situation could have been addressed at the venue itself. “Pranit should also have cut it then and there itself from his first comment.” He shared that Himanshu later told him he got carried away by the atmosphere of the event and never expected the clip to spread so widely online.

Himanshu Jangra’s ₹370 biryani controversy has become much bigger than a single viral moment. While many believe the backlash was justified, the incident has also sparked conversations about accountability, online outrage, consequences and whether people should be given space to learn from their mistakes. As the debate continues, the story remains a reminder of how quickly a few words can change someone’s life.
