Fighter Actor Akshay Oberoi Recalls Getting Big Roles And Impact On His Career

Bollywood actor Akshay Oberoi has steadily built a reputation as a versatile actor in the Indian entertainment industry. Known for his spectacular role and charming will to experiment with diverse roles, Oberoi has carved a niche for himself across both films and web series. He debuted with the romantic comedy Isi Life Mein (2010) but began to collect fame only after giving a beautiful performance in Siddharth Anand’s film FIGHTER. He was also seen working with Deepika Padukone in Piku, for a short role and with Anil Kapoor in several other big-small projects. His portfolio reflects his range, from dramas like Laal Rang (2016) to dark, gritty projects like Gurgaon (2017) and Kaalakaandi (2018). Besides films, Oberoi has also shone in popular web series such as Flesh, Illegal, and High. In an exclusive interview with Lehren, Akshay Oberoi shares his beautiful experiences of working with the cast of film Fighter, and claims that being cast for Fighter was like a complete circle for him. He recalled of getting a short web series named, ‘Flesh’, by filmmaker Siddharth Anand and wife Mamta Anand via Eros Now which further got him do the role in Fighter.

Despite the long wait, Oberoi says that he remained content, saying that everything is decided in the universe. Reflecting on his evolving career, he acknowledged that the recognition he’s receiving now, especially with the film Fighter and his role in it, is finally putting him in the spotlight. “I feel it’s good that I’m getting attention slowly,and gradually. Had I received this role as early as in 26 years, it would have led me thinking of only attaining all the luxury and lavishness of life“, Akshay added. Proud of the single-act roles, the American actor shares that he feels even working for short roles can leave an imprint on one’s work history and shares that every actor should say yes to almost every role, no matter how big or small it is.
