Chhava: Vicky Kaushal is currently immersed in shooting his highly anticipated project, the film “Chhava.” Reported to be a period drama, the movie features Kaushal alongside Rashmika Mandanna. Sources suggest that Kaushal will essay the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the eldest son of the Maratha Empire’s founder, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
The film is poised to explore Sambhaji Maharaj’s valor, sacrifices, and military strategies, intertwined with an emotive love story depicting his relationship with his wife. The unveiling of Vicky’s first look from the film has set social media abuzz.
In leaked images obtained by Zoom, Vicky is depicted wearing a sleeveless beige kurta paired with dhoti. The ensemble is complemented by rudraksha neckpieces and a red belt. Sporting long hair, Vicky’s hairstyle includes a bun adorned with rudraksha beads, reminiscent of saints and sages. Additionally, his forehead is adorned with three horizontal lines of vibhuti, a sacred white ash.
Previously, Vicky Kaushal shared a sneak peek of his preparations for Chhava on Instagram. In the photo, he looked muscular in a grey T-shirt and black headband, sporting a thick beard with a mustache. Rashmika Mandanna plays his wife, Yesubai Bhonsale, in the film. Recently, Rashmika finished shooting her part and thanked the team on Instagram.
Directed by filmmaker Laxman Utekar, known for movies such as the Kriti Sanon-starrer Mimi and Luka Chuppi, Chhava marks another collaboration between Utekar and Vicky Kaushal. They previously worked together on the comedy romance Zara Hatke Zara Bachke in 2023.
