After nearly two years staying away from spotlight, the American actor Ezra Miller maybe preparing to return to Hollywood. Popular for his portrayals in the films like The Flash, Justice League, and Fantastic Beasts, Miller recently caught attention when he appeared at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival to support filmmaker and longtime friend Lynne Ramsay.
Now, the actor opens up about working a new project while speaking to Italian outlet Lo Speciale Giornale, Miller revealed, “I came to Cannes to support one of my closest friends in the world, who is Lynne Ramsay – who I think is one of the greatest living filmmakers.” The actor confirmed that they are working on a new project with Ramsay, saying, “I’m working with her again; that will likely be the first thing I do: a film that she and I are writing together.”
Further, Miller admitted that returning to a public event like Cannes was not easy. “It’s a tough re-entry point,” they said. Over the past two years, Miller has stayed away from public life and spent time writing. “I’ve been writing a lot, because you can do that in solitude, which has been friendly to me,” the actor shared.
Ezra Miller has faced several legal and personal issues since 2020, including allegations of assaults and inappropriate behaviour. Some cases were later withdrawn or dismissed. Reflecting on that period, Miller said, “Not that I don’t hold a lot of remorse and lamentation for a lot of things I did and a lot of things that happened in that time, but I’m really, really grateful for the lessons that came with that abyss.”
With a new creative project in the works and cautious steps back into the industry, Ezra Miller seems to be charting a careful path forward – starting with a script and a friend who believes in them.
