Do you recall when Mika Singh and Akanksha Puri made headlines last year as they were about to get married? It all happened when Mika Singh chose Akanksha as his life partner on the reality show Swaymvar: Mika Di Vohti. Mika rejected a bunch of girls to finally choose his best friend as his wife. Interestingly, Akanksha wasn’t even a regular entry. However, the marriage never happened.
After the reality show, Mika and Akanksha were seen together once or twice and their relationship soon became stale news. A year after the Swaymvar, Mika Singh has confirmed that they are not together anymore. In an exclusive interview with ETimes, Mika said that were not meant for each other. Mika was quoted by the portal: “However, after choosing Akanksha as my companion, I realised that we were not meant to be with each other. I am a singer, musician and she is an actress. I keep travelling across the world for my concerts, while she is stationed at one place because of her projects. I figured that if she was also a singer, we could have collaborated and travelled together, but since she is an actor and her work is different from mine, we mutually decided to be friends.”
Mika was then asked if the Swamyar was just a sham. Replying to ETimes, Mika said, “The show was not a sham, neither was Akanksha’s entry planned. It’s just that things didn’t work out for us. As far as marriage goes, I have now left things to destiny. Marriage is a big decision and though I am keen to find a life partner I don’t want to regret later after taking a hasty step. So, it is important that I take my time.”
Akanksha was recently seen as a participant in Bigg Boss OTT 2. In the show, she got into a controversy for her kiss with Jad Hadid. Akanksha was evicted much before the finale. After the show, she has been busy with several projects.
