Directed by Parasuram, the much-anticipated Telugu film, “The Family Star” was released in theatres on 5 April 2024. Starring Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur, the Telugu action-comedy film opened up to “average” reviews from the critics and the moviegoers. Before the film’s theatrical release a leading streaming OTT platform had bagged the digital rights of the film.

The Family Star OTT Platform
Recently during the announcement event, streaming giant Amazon announced that the Telugu film, “The Family Star” will be released directly on Amazon Prime after the film’s theatrical run. However, the OTT platform has yet to disclose the OTT release date of the film.
The 8-week theatre window is the standard theatrical-to-digital window that typically spans around 8 weeks. This means the film will most probably be released on the OTT platform by June or July.
About The Family Star
The Telugu film follows the story of Govardhan Rao (played by Vijay) who shoulders numerous responsibilities, despite being the youngest among his siblings and having a grandmother. He assumes the role of managing the family affairs and meticulously handles their finances, often expressing the myriad challenges he faces. However, when Indu (Mrunal Thakur) rents a section of his house, she brings about significant transformations in his life.
Directed by Parasuram Petla, The Family Star is a Telugu action-comedy film starring Mrunal Thakur and Vijay Deverakonda in the lead roles. Apart from them the film also stars Victoria Grace, Marissa Rose Gordon, Kishore Raju Vasistha, and others in significant roles. The Telugu film was released in theatres on 5 April in Hindi, Telugu, and other languages.
