Bollywood actresses and cousins Kajol Devgn and Rani Mukerji recently graced the couch of Karan Johar’s chat show, Koffee With Karan season 8. During the episode, Karan Johar revealed that despite being cousins both Rani and Kajol weren’t very close to each other during the beginning of their careers.
Show host Karan Johar revealed that both Rani Mukerji and Kajol maintained a distance from each other during the shooting of their film, “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai”. Karan asked Rani and Kajol, “At that time, you didn’t have a close friendship or a relationship at all, right?”.
Talking about their relationship Karan then added, that though both Kajol and Rani Mukerji were family there was no relationship between the two. He revealed that Kajol also kept a silent distance from Rani Mukerji. He added, “I used to wonder, What kind of family is this?”
Reacting to the same Rani said that she has known Kajol as a kid she added that Kajol has always been “didi” for her. Although it was strange when people grow up they grow apart so she didn’t really know the reason since both of them didn’t meet very often.
Rani then revealed that she is much closer to Kajol’s sister Tanisha than Kajol since Kajol used to stay in town and she lived in Juhu. Also, Kajol was much closer to the boys in the family. Rani then revealed that their relationship has gotten better over the years after their dads passed away. Rani also revealed that she was very close to Kajol’s dad (Shomu Mukherjee).
