A court in Bihar’s Begusarai district issued the arrest warrant against Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor for her ALT Balaji web series XXX. Filmmaker and producer Ekta Kapoor is charged of insulting soldiers and hurting the sentiments and emotions of their family members. Her lawyer issued a statement regarding the alleged arrest warrant.
A resident and ex-servicemen from Begusarai, Shambhu Kumar, filed a complaint against the producer. He claims that XXX season 2 hurts the sentiments of a soldier’s family. Vikas Kumar, judge of Bihar court issued an arrest warrant on the basis of the complaint lodged by Shambhu Kumar.
Reportedly, the lawyer who is representing Ekta issued a statement on October 2nd. He denies the reports of an arrest warrant against her calling them false. He said, “In the recent past, there have been news articles alleging the issuance of arrest warrants by a Magistrate Court in Begusarai, Bihar against Ms. Ekta Kapoor and Mrs. Shobha Kapoor. These news articles which appear to have been made on the basis of alleged statements of the advocate for the individual who has filed the complaint are false and inaccurate as no arrest warrants have been received by Ms. Ekta Kapoor or Mrs. Shobha Kapoor.”
In 2020 Shambhu Kumar complaint that XXX season 2 had several objectionable scenes related to the wife of the soldier. Hrishikesh Pathak, the advocate of Shambhu Kumar said, “The series was aired on ALTBalaji, an OTT platform owned by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms Ltd. Shobha Kapoor is also associated with Balaji Telefilms. The court had issued summons to them (Kapoors) and asked them to appear before it in connection with the matter. They (Kapoors), however, informed the court that certain scenes in the series were removed after the objection. But they did not appear before the court following which the warrant was issued against them.”
XXX is an ALT Balaji Original series produced by Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor. XXX is an erotic comedy-drama series displaying different aspects of sexual relationships. It is an episodic series, each episode features a different story.
