Supermodel Gigi Hadid found herself in legal trouble when she and her friend were arrested for possession of marijuana during a vacation in the Cayman Islands. On July 10, Gigi, along with her companions, boarded a private jet to the island, only to have their bags flagged during customs inspection. Cayman Marl Road reported that marijuana and related utensils were discovered, leading to their detainment at the Prisoner Detention Center. However, after going through legal procedures, they were released on bail.
Both Gigi and her friend Leah, aged 28 and 29 respectively, admitted to the charges and were fined $1,000 each, successfully avoiding a recorded conviction. Gigi’s representative told E! News that the marijuana was legally purchased in NYC with a medical license, and its medical use has been permitted in Grand Cayman since 2017. Consequently, her record remains untarnished, and she continued to enjoy her time on the island.
Despite the legal predicament, Gigi Hadid’s name has been circulating in the media for other reasons as well. Rumors of an alleged love affair with Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio have been fueling gossip columns. According to reports, Leonardo seems content with his current lifestyle and has no immediate plans to settle down.
“Leo is living his best life and he’s one of the happiest people [his friends] know,” a source recently shared with Us Weekly. “He has a very fulfilled life and enjoys the comforts of doing as he pleases anywhere or anytime.” The source said that “some of those in Leo’s inner circle are convinced he’ll never fully settle down and get married.” “However, they’re not concerned about him finding the right one,” the source added.
