Though we have seen Chandler and Monica having their sweet love moments in the series, Chandler, in reality, had a failed love life. This guy once proposed to his ex-girlfriend, ‘Molly Hurwitz’ out of intoxication.
Before Molly Hurwitz, Matthew had a strong relationship experience as he dated Julia Roberts, Yasmine Bleeth, Maeve Quinlan, Gwyneth Paltrow, etc. With some, he ended on a good note, while with others, there were some clashes. With his last girlfriend, Molly Hurwitz, things were not much different.
Matthew started dating Molly in the year 2018 and proposed to her in 2020. Matthew Perry was in Switzerland, and there he was high with 1800 milligrams of drugs. He once described this incident to his friends, saying, “I had even asked for her family’s blessing. Then I’d proposed, high as a kite. And on one knee. And she knew it, too. And she said yes. I bought her a ring because I was desperate that she would leave me. I didn’t want to be this injured and alone during COVID.”
Matthew was quite insecure and didn’t want any abandonment, and that’s why this fellow proposed to Molly in his intoxicated stage only. But whatever he did came out of some insecurities, and thus he wasn’t fully ready for commitment. Later, the guys broke up in 2021.
Matthew never got his real life Monica, and now he is no more, which makes the “FRIENDS” frame incomplete.
