The Truth Hurts singer Lizzo, real name Melissa Viviane Jefferson has taken a decision to quit the entertainment industry. The 35-year-old American rapper posted on her social media about her decision to quit the Hollywood industry. She felt like she was unwanted in this entire world. Lizzo wrote, “I’m getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone in my life and on the internet. All I want is to make music and make people happy and help the world be a little better than how I found it. But I’m starting to feel like the world doesn’t want me in it.”
Lizzo has been a victim of trolls and online criticism because of her physique and external appearance. The further post read, “I’m constantly up against lies being told about me for clout & views, being the butt of the joke every single time because of how I look… my character being picked apart by people who don’t know me and disrespecting my name.” Her last words were enough to make anyone understand her inner battle, she wrote, “I didn’t sign up for this s**t.”
Earlier, three of her dancers filed a civil lawsuit against Lizzo and her production company Big Grrrl Big Touring for sexual harassment, body-shaming and a hostile work environment. She defended herself, saying, “Sometimes I have to make hard decisions, but it’s never my intention to make anyone feel uncomfortable or like they aren’t valued as an important part of the team.”
But after Lizzo’s decision to quit, many fans expressed their disappointment in the comment section, at the same time, showed strong support for her decision.
