Kate Winslet Wins Best Actress At RTS Awards

Kate Winslet won the leading award at last night’s RTS Awards for her harrowing performance in I Am Ruth, while Sherwood, The Traitors, and The Derry Girls each gave two gongs. Winslet won the Lead Actor (Female) award during yesterday’s ceremony in London.

Heartstopper’s Kit Connor took the lead (male) ahead of Top Boy’s Kane Robinson aka Kano and The English’s Chaske Spencer, marking an RTS acting win for a Netflix show. Graham’s BBC drama Sherwood won the coveted Drama Series Award, ahead of Top Boy and The Responder, and also won Male Supporting Actor for Adeel Akhtar.

BBC’s hit format The Traitors, a fan favorite, also won the Entertainment Series and Entertainment Performance for presenter was won by Claudia Winkleman, while the final season of Derry Girls also received two gongs: Writer: Comedy for Lisa McGee and Screenplay Comedy. And after being rejected by the BAFTAs, This is Going to Hurt’s Ambika Mod was a delight in the Female Supporting Actor category.

Overall, the BBC dominated with 17 awards including Charlotte Moore, Director of Content, who won the Judges’ Award, and Happy Valley star Sarah Lancashire, who received the Outstanding Achievement Award.
