Hailey Bieber has spoken openly about being pitted against Selena Gomez repeatedly. After the recent Tik Tok incident involving the Rare singer, which made headlines and resulted in Hailey getting death threats, she said that ‘vile, disgusting hatred’ is a false narrative created solely to divide two women.
It all started when Selena Gomez posted on her Tik Tok and confessed how she had accidentally overlaminated her eyebrows a few months prior. It set off an internet dispute. Later, Kylie Jenner shared a photo of herself with the caption “This was an accident?” over her brows, and then she also shared a picture of her friend Hailey Bieber’s brows. Users reported that Kylie and Hailey, were rude to Selena without any reason.
On the Bloomberg Originals series The Circuit With Emily Chang, when Hailey was asked about the same, she said she didn’t think that this was about her and Selena Gomez—not about this pitting between two women and division between two women. It’s about the vile, disgusting hatred that can come from completely made-up, twisted, and perpetuated narratives. She said that can be really dangerous.
She further explains how she hates the idea of two women being pitted against one another. She said that she doesn’t like the whole idea of teaming up with this person. She is just not about that. She wants to bring people together…..she hates it. She has hated me since the beginning. That kind of thing goes back to a little bit of just being misunderstood when it’s like, time and time again, she doesn’t know why she keeps having to say that there is no issue or problem. It’s disappointing that people still behave this way towards men. It’s the world we live in, unfortunately, Hailey Bieber said.
