Gal Gadot Is Returning As Wonder Women For The Third Time

Previously announced on the heels of Wonder Woman 1984‘s premiere, it was officially confirmed during DC FanDome 2021 that Wonder Woman 3 is on the way.

The director of the Wonder Woman franchise, Patty Jenkins has spilled the beans during an appearance at the virtual DC FanDome event on Saturday. She revealed that the third installment of the wonder woman movies is under production.

However, nearly a year after the ‘threequel’ was first announced, the movie is under production. While talking to OG wonder women Lynda Carter about the superhero’s legacy and their hopes for the character in the future, the ladies disclosed the news. Although, Jenkins said in an excerpt, “We’re super excited about Wonder Woman 3,” while Lynda gushed “it’s coming!”

Meanwhile, Carter seemed to be a bit loose-lipped as she coyly said to Jenkins, “In Wonder Woman 3… which I can’t wait to hear you come out with,” prompting Patty to flash a smile and interject, “You can’t wait to hear me not talk about.” “Oh but it’s coming. wonder woman 3 is coming,” to which Jenkins teased “sure is.” Taking the floor Patty stated, “We’re super excited about Wonder Woman 3. gal gadot (gal galdot child), who is so bummed about not being here, who’s the busiest person in the world, with now three little kids and shooting…But we are all three very excited about some things coming up with wonder woman 3.”

For unversed, the first Wonder Woman film (movies with gal gadot) was released in 2017 and the sequel of Wonder Woman 1984 had a joint theatrical and streaming release on HBO Max last Christmas. Wonder Woman 1984 was delayed several times amid the ongoing pandemic. The initial release was set for June 2020 but finally hit theatres on 25 December.

Additionally, just two days after the film was released it was announced that Warner Bros. had fast-tracked the development of a third gal gadot upcoming movie wonder woman. However, wonder woman grossed 46.5 million dollars domestically and 166.5 million dollars worldwide. Despite a number of theaters in major markets being closed at the time of its release, the film did $16.7M in domestic ticket sales becoming the best opening weekend numbers of any film amid Coronavirus at that time.
