Ellen DeGeneres, 65 and Portia De Rossi had a surprise Vow renewal ceremony on Portia’s 50th birthday on 31st January. The ceremony was a surprise by the Ally McBeal star and was held at her new house. Brandi Carlile performed at the event, followed by the couple’s entry. It was presided over by Kris Jenner, 67, with her kind words. The couple stood in front of The Kardashians star, who said, “these two were born for each other, and Corey and I have spent so much time with them as their friends, neighbors, dance partners, cocktail buddies, and late-night chat sessions.” She added that they continue to amaze her with their cuteness. She calls them “a match made in heaven.”
Ellen and Portia married in August, 2008 after being together for four years. The couple will complete 15 years this August.
Portia was wearing her white-wedding dress from her 2008 wedding, and Ellen (Surprised and shocked) wore a plain black jacket over blue shirt along with beige pants. Some of the celebrities attended this surprise event which include Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle. ‘Friends’ actress Jennifer Aniston, Carol Burnett, Courteney Cox, Melissa Etheridge attended the event along with Gwyneth Paltrow. ‘One Of The Boys’ singer Katy Perry and her man, Orlando Bloom, were part of this celebration as well. Ellen shared the video of their vow renewal ceremony on her instagram page and full video on her youtube channel called “The Ellen Show.”
The comedian captioned it as “Portia surprised me at her birthday party by renewing our vows. She thanked Kris and Brandi for playing an important role in the ceremony and especially Portia for “being the greatest gift” even on her (Portia) birthday.
