In an conversation with Variety, she unveiled intimate details about her perception of self and se*uality, reflecting on the challenging scrutiny she faced during her formative years.

Recalling the perplexing and disconcerting public scrutiny she encountered, Eilish recounted, “Who was she dating? What was her se*uality? Why did she dress like that?” Amid this introspection, she clarified her preferred pronouns.

Acknowledging her attraction to women, Eilish expressed, “I have deep connections with women in my life, the friends in my life, the family in my life. I’m physically attracted to them. But I’m also so intimidated by them and their beauty and their presence.”

Her feelings toward traditional femininity emerged in her revelation, “I’ve never really felt like I could relate to girls very well. I love them so much. I love them as people. I’m attracted to them as people. I’m attracted to them for real… I’ve never felt like a woman, to be honest with you.”

While affirming her identification as ‘she/her,’ Eilish disclosed her internal struggle with conventional perceptions of femininity. “I’ve never felt desirable. I’ve never felt feminine. I have to convince myself that I’m, like, a pretty girl,” she shared.
