Hollywood witnessed a big clash at the box office this week. Two highly awaited movies with stellar casts hit the theatres on the same day, that is, 21 July, leaving the fans confused over which one to watch! Christopher Nolan’s biographical thriller film Oppenheimer clashed with Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling starrer fantasy film Barbie. Both the films have a huge hype in India as well. Though both films are completely different from each other and cater to different audiences altogether, it is interesting to see which one’s winning the box office race. Oppenheimer Collection In India (Day 1)
As per several reports, Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer earned Rs 13-14 crore nett at the Indian box office. It sold close to 1.30 lakh tickets on the first day across several cinema chains. The film is getting impressive reviews from the critics and the audience. Twitter is flooded with appreciatory comments for the film. The film is expected to earn relatively higher over the weekend.

Barbie Collection In India (Day 1)
Fantasy movie Barbie is reported to have earned Rs 5 crore nett in India on its opening day. As per some reports, the film had sold over 16,000 tickets in its advance booking across PVR, Inox and Cinepolis.

Oppenheimer has clearly won the box office race in India on its opening day by earning more than double. Interestingly, Oppenheimer has even surpassed the opening day collection of Tom Cruise’s latest movie Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning which earned Rs 12.50 crore in India.
Let’s see if Nolan’s film breaks some records over the weekend.
