During an interview with Entertainment Tonight on June 10, 2024, the Hollywood actor expressed his admiration for the iconic series while acknowledging the challenges of potentially stepping into such a significant role.
During the promotional interview for his latest film, The Bikeriders, Butler reacted to the rumours of him joining the reboot of Disney’s popular film series. “I loved Pirates of the Caribbean,” Butler shared, reflecting on the franchise’s impact on him during his youth. The 32-year-old star added, “It’s a hard one to touch because they did it so well. I loved what Johnny did with that,” highlighting Johnny Depp’s memorable performance as Captain Jack Sparrow.
The Dead Don’t Die (2019) star, also remembered his childhood memory when his friends used to make posters of their favourite actors and music. Additionally, the actor added that for him “it was Pirates of the Caribbean.”
