Mirzapur Season 3: Farhan Akhtar Talks About One of His Most Anticipated Series

The Bollywood actor and the Co-producer of the Show Attends the Trailer Launch Event And Shares Some Insights

Bollywood actor and filmmaker, Farkhan Akhtar shared what people commonly ask him about his upcoming projects. The film director recently addressed the media during the trailer launch of the coming season of his highly-anticipated series, Mirzapur on Amazon Prime Video. Akhtar is the co-producer of the crime-thriller series along with Ritesh Sidhwani.

At the trailer launch event, Akhtar shared a funny incident about what people ask him whenever the Dil Chahta Hai (2001) maker steps out. The Lakshya (2004) director said, “Wherever I go, people ask me only three questions, one is, ‘What are you doing here?’, the second is ‘When will Don 3 release?’ and the third question which they ask me is ‘When will Mirzapur 3 come?’.”  

Mirzapur Season 3 is one of the lined-up projects of Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment production. On sharing the gratitude for the success of the first two seasons, the actor stated “It’s the audience that makes it a success. The credit also goes to the talent on stage, the writing team and the team at Prime Video. We are very blessed to have these people collaborate with us on the show.”The Gully Boy (2019) producer also added that he is “very happy” to return with the new season.

With its intense narrative and complex characters, Mirzapur has become a cornerstone of the Indian web series, with Akhtar’s production company Excel Entertainment playing a pivotal role in its success. Executive producer and director, Gurmeet Singh calls the first two seasons of the show a “game changer” for the crime thriller genre in the Indian streaming space.

The Don film series, originally helmed by Farhan Akhtar, reinvented the classic 1978 film starring Amitabh Bachchan, with Shah Rukh Khan stepping into the titular role. The franchise’s modern take and thrilling storyline have made it a favourite among action film enthusiasts.
