When Villain Ranjeet Opens Up About His Affair: ‘I Was Not Like Other Actors Hiding Girlfriends In Closets or Rooms’

Ranjeet Celebrated His 82nd Birthday, Marking A Remarkable Milestone In His Illustrious Career

Ranjeet, the iconic Bollywood villain renowned for his captivating performances during his prime, has always been recognized for his dedication and hard work in the film industry. While he’s carved a lasting legacy on the silver screen, he has remained notoriously private about his personal life. However, in a rare interview with Lehren, Ranjeet provided an intimate glimpse into his world, introducing his wife, actress Aloka Devi, and revealing his passion for painting.

During the interview, Ranjeet proudly showcased his beautiful house, where he was seen enjoying a swim, offering a rare look at his life outside of cinema. He spoke passionately about his artwork, explaining how painting keeps him engaged during his free time.

When the topic of his artistic pursuits was raised in the presence of his wife, the interviewer humorously asked, “So you haven’t stopped him (from painting) because you feel that it is keeping him clean and clear.”

To this, Ranjeet’s wife Aloka Devi replied with a smile, “He has been clean and clear; there is no hassle in his mind.”

Ranjeet chimed in, adding, “What do you mean by that? Even when I was not married, I was clean and clear. If I had an affair, it was open. I was not like other actors hiding girlfriends in closets or rooms, where they aren’t even supposed to order breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Well, there is nothing wrong with that, but as long as you’re there, you know it’s not about having anything hidden and all that.”

Recently, Ranjeet celebrated his 82nd birthday, marking a remarkable milestone in his illustrious career. With over 50 years in the industry, he has etched his name in the annals of Bollywood history as one of the most memorable antagonists. It was superstar Sunil Dutt who bestowed the screen name ‘Ranjeet’ upon him during their collaboration in “Reshma aur Shera” in 1968. His journey as a formidable villain began with his third film, “Sharmelee,” starring alongside Shashi Kapoor and Rakhee, and the rest, as they say, is cinematic history.
