When Shahrukh Khan Said, “I Owe My Success To Vivek Vaswani”

Check out this throwback video of Shahrukh Khan in which he said that the man behind his success is Vivek Vaswani. Know more!

Shahrukh Khan is the biggest superstar of Bollywood. Ruling the Hindi film industry for more than 25 years, the actor is called ‘Badshah’ for a reason. But do you know the man behind the making of India’s biggest superstar?

Well, actor, writer and producer Vivek Vaswani is the man who pushed SRK’s career when he was a nobody. When Shahrukh first came to Bombay and had no place to stay, Vivek came to his rescue.

Vivek helped him meet directors and producers and launched him in ‘Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman’. They also acted together in ‘English Babu Desi Mem’, ‘Dulha Mil Gaya’, ‘Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa’ and ‘King Uncle’. Over the years, Vivek continued to be his mentor.

In the mid-90s, when Shahrukh became the superstar after delivering blockbuster films and winning Filmfare Awards, he told in an interview, “Vivek is the one who has put me on line. He is the one who introduced me to Hindi films. I owe most of my success to Vivek Vaswani because he was the one who brought me to Bombay and made me act in films. I did my first film for Vivek- Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman. I still believe that it is one of the nicest films I have ever done and I would ever do. As long as he is here, there is no problem at all. It’s been a long time I have been busy and he’s been busy. But when we get together it is just like old times.”

“It always will be,” Vivek added.

As they say, anything is possible when you have the right people to support you. And Shahrukh has been lucky when it comes to friends and family.

We wish him a very happy birthday!
