When Shah Rukh Khan Learned Of Divya Bharti’s Tragic Demise

When Shah Rukh Khan learned to know about Divya Bharti's tragic demise, says, I woke up in the morning and I saw that she had died.

Bollywood actress Divya Bharti was one of the most talented and gorgeous actresses of her time. Unfortunately, she died at the age of 19 after allegedly falling from the fifth floor of her Mumbai flat. Her tragic death shocked many people and sparked heated debate. But at that time, Shah Rukh Khan was absolutely unaware of it, as he was sleeping at the time of the incident. Scroll down to what he said about the same.

Divya made her Bollywood debut with the action thriller Vishwatma in 1992 after being a part of several regional projects. The late actress and SRK had worked together on two films, Deewana and Aashna Hai.

In an old interview with NDTV, Shah Rukh Khan discussed Divya Bharti’s untimely death. “I pray for her soul. They were playing my song, Aisi Deewangi, while I was sleeping in Delhi. I imagined myself to be a big star. I had no idea how to become a big star. The film was a huge success. Suddenly, these songs began to play, and when I awoke in the morning, I discovered that she had died. She’d fallen out of a window. One of the biggest surprises was that I thought I was supposed to do another film with her” he said.

Shah Rukh Khan also recalled a compliment given to her by Divya Bharti that he will remember for the rest of his life. “I thought Divya Bharti was stunning as an actor.” She was the polar opposite of what I imagined an actor to be. I was a serious guy, and she was a completely crazy, fun-loving girl. I recall finishing dubbing at the Sea Rock Hotel. I did the dubbing for Deewana. I saw her as I walked out of Sea Rock and said hello. ‘You’re not just an actor, you’re an institution,’ she said as she looked at me. That touched me deeply. Wow, I exclaimed. I didn’t understand it, so I quickly looked up the meaning of the phrase. “I realised how much it meant to me,” he stated.
