When Media Asked Shah Rukh Khan Why He Has Not Worked In Hollywood, The Jawan Actor Said, ‘I Don’t Think I’m Talented Enough’

There Was A Time When Shah Rukh Khan Was Supposed To Be Part Of An International Film Called 'Xtreme City’

Shah Rukh Khan is one of the top actors in Indian cinema that the world has ever seen. He often mentions that there will be no superstar like him after his time. However, despite having an enormous fan following worldwide, he has never worked in Hollywood. According to media reports, he has been offered many leading roles in Western movies, but he’s not very interested in pursuing them.

There was a time when Shah Rukh Khan was supposed to be part of an international film called ‘Xtreme City,’ which was planned to feature two of the most famous actors from Hollywood and Bollywood, Leonardo DiCaprio and Shah Rukh Khan. This film was also set to be directed by the renowned director Martin Scorsese. However, for some undisclosed reason, the movie was never completed.

Furthermore, Shah Rukh Khan himself has stated that he is not particularly eager to work in Hollywood. During the 2008 Berlin Film Festival, a member of the media asked him why he hadn’t joined the ‘dream factory’ yet, referring to Hollywood. Shah Rukh responded candidly and somewhat self-deprecatingly, saying, “My English is not good, if they give me a role of a dumb person who doesn’t speak, maybe then there’s a possibility. I am not trying to be modest, I am 42 years old. I am a little brown. I don’t have any USP as an actor, I don’t have any specialty. I don’t know Kung Fu, I don’t dance salsa, and I am not tall enough…I have seen the recent European films, there is no place for me there, no space for me. I don’t think am talented enough. Instead, I would like to continue working in India and take Indian cinema to the world.”

On the work front, Shah Rukh is gearing up for his latest release ‘Jawan,’ which will hit theaters on September 7. The actor is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the film becomes a super hit, and for that, he is promoting the film in every possible way.
