Vidya Balan Reveals She Once Begged For Food In 5-Star Hotel

Bollywood actress shares a hilarious incident from her volunteer days.

Bollywood actress Vidya Balan embarked on her career in the television industry before making her mark in Bollywood. During a recent conversation with Mashable, Vidya shared a captivating story about a daring act she performed for a biscuit.

She revealed, “Back in the day, we had this wonderful event called the Indian Music Group (IMG), which hosted annual classical music concerts. It was a remarkable three-day festival that would continue all night. I was part of the organising committee, or rather, I volunteered to assist with the arrangements. Once the event wrapped up for the night, we would often take a stroll to Nariman Point.”

Vidya Balan continued, “On one occasion, I was challenged by my peers to visit the coffee shop at Oberoi–The Palms and knock on the door, asking for food. Little did they know that I was an aspiring actor. I persistently knocked on the door, simulating a hungry individual who hadn’t eaten since the previous day. As you can imagine, people grew increasingly annoyed—I’ve been on the receiving end of such pranks myself numerous times. I kept pleading, ‘Please, I’m hungry! I haven’t had anything to eatfor ages. Eventually, they just averted their gazes, and at that point, my friend felt embarrassed and urged me to leave. But I emerged victorious in the bet.”

In reference to her upcoming film, Vidya will grace the screen in ‘Neeyat,’ alongside an ensemble cast including Ram Kapoor, Rahul Bose, Neeraj Kabi, Shahana Goswami, Amrita Puri, Dipannita Sharma, and others.
