Vicky took to his social media and shared a picture of himself standing in front of the temple and wrote “Babaji, mehr bakshyo. #SardarUdhamSingh here we go!.”
The film is based on the life of the revolutionary, Udham Singh who is known for killing General Dwyer, the man responsible for Jallianwala Bagh massacre in 1919.
The first look of Vicky was revealed in April, 2019. Talking about his first collaboration with Shoojit Sircar he said “It’s a surreal feeling because it’s like a dream come true as I am finally getting to work with him. I have always been a big admirer of how Shoojit sir looks at his stories.”
“The way he is looking at the character (Udham Singh) and the world is extraordinary as well as beautiful. Plus, it’s also a big honour for me that finally, I am going to be directed by him. Honestly, that’s something that will take time to sink in,” he added.
Vicky has lost 13 kgs of his weight and will gain it again for Karan Johar’s next multi-starrer directorial Takht.
Udham Singh will be shot in the UK, Russia, Europe and North India and will hit the screens on October 2, 2020.
