Several Bollywood celebrities have come out in support of Shahrukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, who was arrested by the NCB after raiding a cruise ship. Aryan is in Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail and has been denied bail twice.
Actor turned author Twinkle Khanna (Akshay Kumar’s wife) has now expressed her opinion on the entire controversy. She has compared Aryan Khan’s arrest to an episode of Netflix’s popular show ‘Squid Game’.
Twinkle Khanna Compares Aryan Khan’s Arrest To Squid Game Episode
Twinkle Khanna recently wrote a blog titled, “Let the desi Squid Games begin’. A portion of the blog reads, “Each player is given ten marbles and must get their opponent’s marbles by competing in any game of their choosing. In this episode, one of the strongest candidates is badgered and ultimately bamboozled into losing his marbles. I seem to have misplaced mine as well when I read the news about Shah Rukh Khan’s son’s arrest.”
Twinkle feels that it is unfair to keep Aryan in jail ‘without any strong evidence against him’. She wrote, “While his friend was apparently carrying 6 gm of charas, there is reportedly no evidence of possession by Aryan Khan. Yet, the young boy has been languishing in Arthur Road jail for almost two weeks now.”
She further said that she is unable to make sense out of the entire case against Aryan. Imitating news anchor Arnab Goswami, Twinkle wrote, “I suppose I feel like emulating one of Arnab’s dramatic proclamations where he once said, ‘Mujhe drug do, mujhe drugs do,’ because I need some heavy-duty psychotropic substances to make sense of this development.”
Ayushmann Khurrana’s wife Tahira Kashyap commented on her post, “What a lovely strong piece.”
Aryan Khan Drug Case Updates:
Aryan Khan was denied bail for the second time on Oct 20. Judge VV Patil said in his order,”WhatsApp chats prima facie reveals accused Aryan Khan is dealing in illicit drug activities for narcotic substances on regular basis. Therefore, it cannot be said that Khan is not likely to commit similar offence while on bail.”
The court also said that though no drugs were found on Aryan Khan, he knew about six grams of charas hidden in his friend Arbaaz Merchant’s shoe, and this amounted to “conscious possession”.
