Sunny Deol Recalls Carrying ‘Swords And Metal Rods’ In His Car During His Early Days!

Sunny Deol elaborates the 'Brabourne Stadium' incident, They started throwing cigarette butts at me after that I had no idea who I was hitting.

Sunny Deol is renowned as one of the top mega-action stars in our film industry. He made his Bollywood debut with ‘Betaab’ in 1983, which turned out to be an all-time blockbuster film, propelling Sunny into overnight stardom. Sunny Deol was twice honored with ‘National Film Awards’ by the government for his remarkable performances in critically acclaimed movies like ‘Ghayal’ and ‘Damini’. His portrayal of ‘Tara Singh’ in Anil Sharma’s directorial ‘Gadar’ is considered one of the most iconic and popular characters in Bollywood’s history. The sequel to the same series, ‘Gadar 2’, has just crossed the 500 crore mark at the box office, solidifying its status as one of the biggest hits ever.

Despite Sunny’s gentle personality and reputation as a man of few words, he recently shared details of his aggressive and tumultuous youth in the city during a conversation with Mashable India. He stated, ”I have been in a lot of fights. We used to carry swords, metal rods, and hockey sticks in our cars. This was back in the day when there used to be gangs; times are different now”. Sunny went on to describe how they would provoke strangers into racing against them, saying, ”That’s the life we’ve lived. And then I had to hide it from my parents, especially my father. My mother would handle these situations when they got out of hand.”

Deol also recounted a particularly intense brawl that took place at ‘Brabourne Stadium’ in Mumbai during an India-New Zealand cricket match when some people began taunting him. “I have had fights everywhere. At an India-New Zealand match at Brabourne Stadium, I was with my friends. Some people found out that I was Dharmendra’s son, and then they started ragging me. Then they started throwing cigarette butts at me. I lost my mind. I’m a Sardar, after all. I started swinging, and I had no idea who I was hitting, I just kept beating people up.”

On the professional front, after the massive success of his last release, the action star is all set to collaborate with dynamic director ‘Rajkumar Santoshi’ for their next project, ‘Lahore 1947’. Interestingly, it is produced by another Bollywood superstar, Mr. Perfectionist ‘Aamir Khan’, under his home banner ‘Aamir Khan Productions’.
