Actor Sonu Sood has been proactively taking part in helping the migrant workers reach their respective home towns amid the nationwide lockdown imposed because of the novel coronavirus pandemic. His relief efforts are being lauded by the netizens and politicians.
Meanwhile, Sonu Sood met the Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray and Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Aaditya Thackeray on Sunday at their residence in Mumbai. They met to discuss the relief efforts for migrant workers.
Aaditya Thackeray took to his Twitter handle to share photos from their meeting. Alongside the picture he wrote, “This evening @SonuSood met up with @CMOMaharashtra Uddhav Thackeray ji along with Minister @AslamShaikh_MLA ji and me. Better Together, Stronger Together to assist as many people through as many people. Good to have met a good soul to work for the people together.”
Another tweet of his read, “The CM @OfficeofUT was glad to meet @SonuSood and discussed the work everyone is doing for the people during covid relief. Misunderstandings don’t exist but what does is a commitment to help people.”
In reply to Aaditya’s tweet, Sonu Sood said, “Was a pleasure. Thank you for all the support offered to help my migrant brothers reunite with their families.”
He also addressed Aaditya’s misunderstanding tweet and wrote, “Humanity is above all.”
The misunderstanding rose because Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut wrote a column that stated that Sonu Sood is getting help from the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) in his relief efforts and he was the star campaigner for their party.
Sonu Sood not only did arrange buses for the migrant workers but also arranged a flight for flying the women migrant workers to Odhisa from Kerala. He has also asked people to directly contact him on his social media handles if they are in dire need of help, and makes sure to reply to the majority of them.
Amid the lockdown, Sonu Sood has emerged as a superhero and his noble deeds have won millions of hearts.
