Bollywood superstar, Salman Khan has started filming for his upcoming film, Sikandar. The film is slated to be released on 2025 Eid at the theatres. The production of the film began on Tuesday and the Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) star shared a glimpse from the sets of his current project. Khan along with Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment shared a post on their respective Instagram accounts and the actor captioned it, “Looking forward to #Eid2025 with team #Sikandar.”
Fans started reacting to the post sharing their excitement for their favourite star’s film. “Aa rha hai bhai apna,” a fan commented on the post. “Looking very handsome SIKANDAR,” another fan wrote.
In Sikandar, Salman Khan plays the lead along with Animal (2023) star Rashmika Mandanna. This is their first film together and the other star cast includes Suniel Shetty, Prateik Patil Babbar, Nawab Shah and Chaitannya Choudhry. The film will be produced by Sajid Nadiadwala via Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.
Earlier this year, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and Salman Khan announced the film by sharing a poster on their Instagram handle. The post was captioned as, “Iss Eid ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ aur ‘Maidaan’ ko dekho aur agli Eid Sikandar se aa kar milo…. Wish u all Eid Mubarak! #SajidNadiadwala Presents #Sikandar. Directed by @a.r.murugadoss.” Sajid Nadiadwala and Khan reunite after Kick (2014) and the film will be a Pan-Indian action. Khan was last seen in the YRF film, Tiger 3 (2023), directed by Maneesh Sharma.
The film will be written and directed by A.R. Murugadoss, a celebrated filmmaker known for his impactful storytelling and blockbuster films. His filmography includes notable titles like “Ghajini” (2008), which set new benchmarks in Indian cinema, and “Thuppakki” (2012), acclaimed for its gripping narrative. Murugadoss’s Kaththi (2014) received praise for its social message and tight screenplay. Murugadoss has won several awards, including Filmfare nominations for Best Director for Ghajini and Thuppakki.
