Featuring Ajay Devgn, R. Madhavan, and Jyotika, Vikas Bahl’s horror-thriller, “Shaitaan,” hit theaters on March 8th. The film garnered positive feedback from audiences and critics alike upon its release. Even during its second week at the box office the film has maintained a good pace and has reportedly crossed the 100cr mark domestically, and is giving “tough” competition to recently released Bollywood films like “Yodha” and “Bastar: The Naxal Story”.

According to Sacnilk.com, the film “Shaitaan,” starring Ajay Devgn and R. Madhavan, made a strong debut with ₹14.00 Cr on its opening day. By the end of its first week, it had accumulated a total of ₹79.75 Cr at the box office. Continuing its successful run, the film earned ₹8.5 Cr on the second Saturday and ₹9.75 Cr on the second Sunday. As the second week concluded, its domestic earnings reached approximately ₹103.32 Cr.

In contrast, “Yodha,” featuring Sidharth Malhotra, and “Bastar,” starring Adah Sharma, have struggled to gain momentum at the box office. Meanwhile, “Shaitaan,” led by Ajay Devgn, has maintained its impressive performance, surpassing the other two recent Bollywood releases. As per the reports, the worldwide box office collection of Shaitaan stands at a total of approx. ₹133 crore.
About Shaitaan
“Shaitaan” depicts a family’s struggle for survival after encountering a malevolent black magician, played by R. Madhavan. The trailer follows their encounter with him at their isolated farmhouse, where he claims to have hypnotized their daughter, Janhvi (Janki Bodiwala). Chaos ensues, with Jyotika portraying Ajay Devgn’s wife.
Directed by Vikas Bahl, “Shaitaan” is the official Hindi remake of the Gujarati horror thriller “Vash,” directed by Krishnadev Yagnik. Starring Ajay Devgn, R. Madhavan, Jyotika, and Janki Bodiwala, the film was released in theaters on March 8, 2024.
