Kartik Aaryan’s Relatives Killed in Mumbai Hoarding Collapse, Actor Attends Funeral

Kartik Aaryan mourned the loss of his uncle and aunt in the Mumbai hoarding collapse, attending their funeral.

Monday evening saw a tragic incident in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar area, where a 120×120-foot hoarding collapsed at a petrol pump due to strong winds and unexpected rains. Regrettably, nearly 16 lives were lost, including Kartik Aaryan’s relatives.

As per an Indian Express report, Kartik Aaryan’s uncle Manoj Chansoria and his wife Anita made a stop at a Mumbai petrol pump on May 13, 2024. They were scheduled to travel back to Jabalpur from Mumbai via Indore on the same day. Unfortunately, at approximately 4:30 pm, powerful winds caused a 250-ton hoarding to collapse onto their red SUV at the petrol station. Their remains were recovered 56 hours after the incident.

According to reports, Manoj and Anita were in Mumbai to finalize paperwork for their visa to visit their son Yash, who resides in the United States. On Monday morning, when Yash lost contact with his parents in the evening, he promptly contacted his father’s colleagues.

With the assistance of the Mumbai police, they tracked their final location to Ghatkopar, near the Eastern Express Highway. After extensive hours of searching, they eventually located the bodies trapped beneath the collapsed hoarding.

Upon receiving this news, Yash promptly flew from the US to Mumbai. The last rites for Manoj Chansoria and Anita were conducted on May 16 at Sahar. Their cremation took place at a crematorium in Sahar on Thursday. It was reported that Kartik Aaryan also attended the funeral. Manoj Chansoria, a retired general manager from the Airports Authority of India, is a relative of Kartik Aaryan. The couple hailed from Jabalpur.
