Actor Rhea Chakraborty’s father Indrajeet Chakraborty has issued a statement after the arrest of his son Showik. He said to a leading daily, “Congratulations India, you have arrested my son, I’m sure next on the line is my daughter and I don’t know who is next thereafter. You have effectively demolished a middle-class family. But of course, for the sake of justice, everything is justified. Jai Hind.”
Rhea Chakraborty’s father is a retired Army officer. Rhea’s brother Showik was arrested on Friday after his involvement with drug dealers. Rhea too is under investigation by Narcotics Control Bureau as the proofs against her suggest that she also procured drugs from dealers.
Meanwhile, Rhea’s lawyer Maneshinde has said that Rhea is ready for her arrest and has not applied for anticipatory bail either. He said that she is innocent and has become a victim of media trials. Satish also said that she will be paying the price of loving Sushant.
Rhea’s lawyer was quoted as, “Rhea Chakraborty is ready for arrest as it’s witch-hunt. If loving someone is a crime she’ll face consequences of her love. Being innocent she hasn’t approached any court for anticipatory bail in all cases foisted by Bihar Police with CBI, ED & NCB.”
