Rhea Chakraborty On Being Called “Chudail” After Sushant Singh Rajput’s Death

Bollywood late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s sudden demise gave a huge blow to not only his fans but to his family and friends as well. The death of the actor caused huge controversy and the one at the center of the huge dispute was his girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty. Recalling the same Rhea recently opened up about being called by names, such as “chudail” after Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.

In a conversation with India Today Conclave Mumbai 2023, Rhea was asked about being accused of using black magic on the late actor and given names such as “Chudail”. To this Rhea said, she likes the name, “chudail”. She added, “A witch was a woman who did not subscribe to patriarchal society and had her own way or had her own opinion which was against the popular opinion of men and patriarchal societies back then.” She further added, “Maybe I am that person, maybe I am a chudail, maybe I know how to do black magic.”

Rhea then opened up about the patriarchal mindset of the society saying that even today if a man is successful and his success ratio drops after getting married, people will blame the women in their lives for all of it. She added that men in India do not listen to their wives or girlfriends however if they did it would’ve been a much better society.

For the uninitiated, actress Rhea Chakraborty dated late actor Sushant Singh Rajput for years before the actor committed suicide. Following Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, his family accused Rhea of abetment of his suicide and money laundering. The actress was later imprisoned in Byculla in 2020 in connection with a drug case in Bollywood following the death of Sushant Singh Rajput.

On the work front, Rhea Chakraborty was recently seen as one of the judges on MTV Roadies season 19 alongside Gautam Gulati, Prince Narula and Sonu Sood.
