Raveena Tandon Opens Up About KGF 2 & Daughter Rasha Thadani’s Bollywood Debut

In an exclusive interview with Lehren, the actress touched briefly on her role in "KGF 2" and her daughter Rasha's upcoming Bollywood debut.

Raveena Tandon enjoyed a stellar career in the 90s, cementing her status as one of the era’s top actresses. Her memorable collaborations with Govinda still linger in the minds of audiences. Recently, she dazzled audiences with a powerful portrayal as the Prime Minister in “KGF 2,” alongside southern superstar Yash.

In an exclusive interview with Lehren, the actress touched briefly on her role in “KGF 2” and her daughter Rasha’s upcoming Bollywood debut. Reflecting on her past with Ajay Devgn, with whom she shared college years and familial connections, Raveena shared, “Actually, not really. Yes, we did go to the same college, and our parents worked together. His sister and I were in the same class together, but Ajay was with Bobby. He was senior to me, so I really didn’t know him. However, his sister and I knew each other, and now Rasha and his sister’s son are working together.”

Excitingly, Raveena revealed that her daughter is set to make her debut alongside Ajay’s nephew Aaman Devgn in an untitled action-adventure film. While details about the project remain sparse, anticipation is high.

Discussing her role in “KGF 2,” Raveena shared insights into her dual commitments. “I was doing two different things. I was doing this and ‘Aranyak.’ When I would go to the KGF set, Prashant would say, ‘Mam, notch it up a little higher for performance,’ while when I got to the ‘Aranyak’ sets, Vinay would be like, ‘Just play it very real.’”

Clarifying her stance on her career trajectory, Raveena emphasized that “KGF 2” is not a comeback, citing her previous work in “Maatr.” She remarked, “I don’t know about the comeback because I already did ‘Maatr’ in the middle. I was doing something; it was not a comeback. I was waiting for a good role. I think the days of comebacks are over. Nowadays, actors take their time to choose a role. They focus on quality instead of quantity. In the 80s and 90s, it was more about quantity, but now it’s about quality.”

Looking ahead, Raveena is gearing up for her next venture, “Welcome To The Jungle,” a multi-starrer film set to release in 2024. The ensemble cast includes luminaries such as Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Anil Kapoor, Disha Patani, and more.
