In a recent social media exchange, director Rajkumar Hirani couldn’t resist poking fun at Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, and it’s got fans of both celebrities in splits!
It all began when Shah Rukh Khan, the 57-year-old acting powerhouse who’s set to star in Hirani’s upcoming comedy-drama film, Dunki, hosted an #AskSRK session on social media. He called on his fans to participate, promising to engage in some candid Q&A. Little did he know that he’d get a lighthearted jab from his director.
In a playful tweet, Hirani wrote, “Sirji ab bathroom se bahar aa jao. Kya kar rahe ho? Trailer dikhana hain. #AskSRK.” (Sir, please come out of the bathroom. What are you doing? We need to show the trailer.)
Shah Rukh Khan, never one to back down from some fun banter, responded promptly, jokingly blaming his delay on chatting with friends. He said, “Oh Sh#%. Coming sir…doston se baat kar raha tha!!! Sorry boys and girls have to rush now. Varna #Dunki se nikaal denge!!! Thanks for ur time boys and girls. See u in the theatres very very soon. Love u all. So much to do less time to talk to you….Muah.”
During this interactive session, fans didn’t miss the opportunity to ask about his much-anticipated film, Dunki. One fan inquired about the film’s status, to which Shah Rukh Khan responded, “#Dunki is done and very beautiful. A little like life itself.”
Addressing another fan’s curiosity about the film’s genre, particularly if it would include action scenes similar to his recent films Pathaan and Jawan, the actor revealed, “#Dunki is all funny and emotional. It’s Raju sirs world mere bhai. Thoda sa action maine daal diya hai…pata nahi sir rahein na rakhein….woh editor bhi hain na.”
Dunki, which also stars the talented Taapsee Pannu, is highly anticipated by fans and is scheduled to hit theaters around Christmas. As the excitement builds, fans can’t help but revel in the delightful camaraderie between Shah Rukh Khan and director Rajkumar Hirani, making it all the more enticing to watch out for Dunki trailer and eventual release.
