Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chillar starrer ‘Prithviraj’ dropped its official trailer sometime back after making fans wait for such a long time owing to the pandemic. The period drama is said to be based on the life of Prithviraj Chauhan and features Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chillar in the lead roles, as she makes her Bollywood debut with the film. Manushi essays the character of Sanjogita, the movie also features Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood among other well-known actors.
Prithviraj is directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi and is produced by Yash Raj Films and Aditya Chopra’s Yash Raj Films. It is scheduled for a nationwide release on 3 June 2022. Sharing the film’s trailer on Instagram, Akki wrote: “Shaurya aur veerta ki amar kahaani…Yeh hai kahaani Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan ki. Releasing in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Celebrate Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan with YRF50 only at a theatre near you on 3rd June.”
Since the trailer has been out, fans have been pouring love and praises for the film. A user described, “Fantastic Trailer!!! The main goal of a trailer is to show the potential of the movie, not to give idea about the story… Here is a nice idea about the scale of the film. Can break many records if the film is good”. While another user also talked about how the trailer gave him ‘goosebumps.’ A third user said: “Awesome trailer, faad, grand, big scale, all are top notch can’t wait for movie. Box office be ready to roar. Because Hindustan ka sher aa rha hai.”

It is an honour to portray someone who has done so much for the India that we know,” shared Akshay.
Akshay also revealed how the entire shoot of the film was wrapped up within a span of just 42 days. “We finished the film in 42 days. Come on time and leave on time, then the film completes on time. It was because of the pandemic that the film got delayed, otherwise, the film would have been released long back.”
He further said, “The teaser of Prithviraj captures the soul of the film, the essence of the life of the legendary warrior Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan who knew no fear. This is our tribute to his heroism and his life. The more I read about him, the more I was awed by how he lived and breathed every single second of his glorious life for his country and his values.”
“He is a legend, he is one of the bravest warriors and he is one of the most upright kings that our country has ever seen. We hope that Indians worldwide love our salute to this mighty braveheart. We have tried to present his life story in the most authentic way possible and the film is a homage to his unmatched bravery and courage” he added.
