Can you imagine Tanu Weds Manu without Kangana Ranaut and the sass she spilled on-screen? We know you can’t and neither can we! If we have to sum up her performance, Kangana was the lifeline of the film. Released in 2011, the film was a commercial success and became a turning point in Kangana’s career. But what if we tell you that Kangana wasn’t even the first choice for the role of Tanu?
Well, this revelation was recently made by actress Neetu Chandra who has worked in films like Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!, and Traffic Signal. She talked about how she was removed from six films including this massive hit.
She revealed that she was earlier signed for Tanu Weds Manu but was replaced on R Madhavan’s recommendation.
When asked why didn’t she continue doing the film, she said, “How do you continue? Do you think it depends on me if I want to continue the project? For any reason, if the director thinks that the hero is recommending somebody else… I don’t come from the sort of background where I can (stand my ground). I’m helpless.”
For the unknown, Neetu made her Bollywood debut with the film Garam Masala.
