Moushumi Chatterjee Avoids Talking About Amitabh Bachchan

Veteran actress Moushumi Chatterjee admits that she has never been in the good books of Bollywood heroes. This is because of her blunt nature and her courage to say ‘no’ to compromising situations. In an interview with Bharathi S Pradhan, Moushumi revealed that she walked out of many films because she couldn’t compromise. She eventually lost many offers and lost the chance to get into the big league of actors. Moushumi, however, has no regrets and complaints.

In an hour-long interview with Bharathi S Pradhan, Moushimi openly talked about all-her co-stars. She extensively talked about working with Rishi Kapoor, Shashi Kapoor and Jeetendra. She even addressed her argument with Rajesh Khanna and her relationship rumours with Vinod Mehra, Jeetendra and Sanjeev Kumar. However, she avoided talking about Amitabh Bachchan.

Moushumi was asked that she did a film with Amitabh after which they didn’t work together for a long time and then reunited for Piku. To this, she said, “I did it only for Shoojit Sircar, the director. He was adamant to bring our jodi together.”

When asked how did she feel reuniting with Amitabh after such a long time, Moushumi replied, “Less said the better. But I enjoyed working with Shoojit. I was already his fan. I like the way he works.”

Moushumi revealed that she left films like Desh Premi and Barsaat because she couldn’t compromise. On being asked if her decision to walk out of Desh Premi upset her equation with Amitabh, the actress replied, “Not at all. Because I saw Amitabh Bachchan struggling. He always tried his level best to come up to the A’grade category.”
