Sriram Raghavan’s, much-awaited and highly anticipated action thriller film, Merry Christmas starring Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif with South actor Vijay Sethupathi was released in theatres on 12th January 2024. After registering a low opening at the box office the film witnessed slight growth during the weekend (Saturday-Sunday).

Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi starrer Merry Christmas which opened up to positive reviews from the critics and netizens, failed to secure a decent opening at the box office. The action-thriller secured a box office opening worth only ₹ 2.55 Cr at the box office.
As per Sacnilk.com, the film saw slight growth during its first weekend at the box office. The film earned approx. ₹ 3.45 Cr on Saturday and around ₹ 3.75 Cr on Sunday. The domestic collections of the film now stand at a total of ₹ 9.65 Cr. The film is expected to cross the 10 crore mark at the box office on Monday.
The box office collection and performance of the film, Merry Christmas is majorly affected due to its box office clash with South films like Mahesh Babu starrer Guntur Kaaram, Teja Sajja starrer Hanuman, Dhanush starrer Captain Miller and Tamil film Ayalaan. All these 4 South films have secured higher opening and box office collections than Merry Christmas.
