Despite receiving positive reviews, Kiran Rao's directorial, Laapataa Ladies has received average ratings from IMDb.

Directed by Aamir Khan’s ex-wife, Kiran Rao, the much-anticipated Bollywood film Laapataa Ladies was finally released in the theatres on 1 March 2024. Starring Sparsh Shrivastava and Pratibha Ranta the comedy drama received positive reviews from the critics and the moviegoers. However, despite opening up to positive reviews, the film has received average ratings from IMDb.

Hours after the film’s theatrical release of the film moviegoers and critics shared positive reviews and responses. Unfortunately, despite receiving positive reviews, the film failed to receive decent ratings from IMDb.

Kiran Rao’s film, “Laapataa Ladies” has received an average 7.2/10 rating from IMDb. Despite being low, the film has managed to beat recently released films like Crakk which received 6.5/10.

Laapataa Ladies Story

“Laapataa Ladies” narrates the story of Sparsh, a man who brings his newly married wife home after a lavish wedding. However, when she unveils her veil, it’s discovered that Deepak mistakenly brought another woman home, as his actual wife had been separated from him on a train journey. Meanwhile, the real wife finds herself at a different train station, struggling to recall her husband’s village or precise address. The narrative explores the events that unfold when Kishan, a police officer, undertakes the investigation of their disappearance.
