Delving deeper, the filmmaker disclosed a significant backstory. During Janhvi’s formative years, Karan Johar visited their household with an aspiration to launch her in the movies. This venture was initially named “Shiddat,” later rebranded as “Kalank.” Booney Kapoor went on to reveal that Karan envisioned Janhvi for the lead role, a part that was eventually portrayed by Alia Bhatt. Intriguingly, the role that Madhuri Dixit portrayed in the film was initially intended for Sridevi, who, as Kapoor mentioned, had “reluctantly agreed to do the film.”
Janhvi ,earlier shared an endearing memory regarding her mother’s hidden presence during the filming of “Dhadak.” In an interview with Galatta Plus, Janhvi recounted that her mother was discreetly observing her very first shot on set. Although she was initially told that Sridevi wasn’t present, Janhvi later learned the truth: her mother had concealed herself behind a tree alongside Manish Malhotra to witness her daughter’s debut moment. Janhvi confessed her nervousness about her mother’s opinion, and her heartwarming recollection includes Sridevi’s affirming words: “She has it in her, she has it in her to do really, really well…”
