Karan Johar Had Planned THIS Cameo Scene For SRK In Rocky Aur Rani..

Despite having planned the entire cameo in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Karan Johar was reluctant to approach Shah Rukh Khan.

Renowned director Karan Johar’s close bond with the iconic Shah Rukh Khan has been a consistent highlight in Bollywood’s narrative. Their camaraderie has not only flourished on-screen but has transcended into a profound friendship off-camera as well. Karan’s directorial journey was significantly bolstered when the ever-supportive Shah Rukh Khan entrusted him with his debut directorial venture, the beloved ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’.

Throughout the years, their collaborative spirit has led to several memorable projects. However, Karan Johar emphasized the delicate balance between friendship and professionalism, confessing that he couldn’t exploit his ‘friend card’ indefinitely. He opened up about his reluctance to approach Shah Rukh Khan for yet another cameo appearance in his upcoming project, ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, despite having a compelling concept devised for his role.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Karan Johar revealed how his team had planned a beautiful cameo of Shah Rukh Khan in RARKPK. He told the portal, “The entire AD team will say that in Tum Kya Mile, they said that the best moment would be if you track away from Alia and Ranveer, and just go to Shah Rukh and Kajol singing the same song. They look at them, and Alia realises that this is pure love, because (Shah Rukh and Kajol) represent love. I said, ‘With what kind of guts do I ask Shah Rukh to not only do a cameo, but to go to Kashmir, and get into hair and costume’.”

Revealing why he didn’t approach SRK, Karan added, “Shah Rukh never says no to me. I have to pick and choose what I ask for. I remember when, as a team, we went to him to ask him to play that massive, impactful cameo in Brahmastra. At the end of the day, he looked at us and said, ‘It’s Karan, I can never say no’. I know that I can’t take that empowered feeling for granted and keep going back.”

Karan revealed that for his cameo in Brahmastra, Shah Rukh Khan gave his 12-14 days and didn’t charge a single penny. Well, isn’t their friendship sweet?
