‘It’s nothing short of a miracle’ says Actress Richa Chadha on falling in love with actor Ali Fazal

Actress Richa Chaddha opens up about her relationship with Ali Fazal and her thoughts on marriage.

Bollywood actress Richa Chadha is to be seen shortly in the Panga of Ashiwny Tiwari Iger. In the movie, the actress plays a mother. Ironically, Chadha was mentored just a few months ago for something she had never attempted-comedy.

Richa tried her hands on a standing up comedy, and everyone who saw her gig would surely like to know more about Chadha’s old aunt, who kept plaguing the actress with the question, “Vyah kab hona?” Chadha, who “didn’t see the show” herself until the time of our talk, says the lady didn’t see the episode yet.

“No she has not reacted to it. She is still into her daily soaps; she doesn’t watch digital shows,” Chadha reveals. She further adds, “I’m gonna be meeting her soon. I’ll keep my recorder on. In case I do any more standup, I’ll get more content.”

Chadha took a dig at all her family members asking her about her marriage through her stand-up comedy. “I think everyone is asking me,” says Chadha. “But right now I don’t really know if I believe…” she pauses and continues, “I mean you should get married only if you decide to have children, otherwise it is whatever…”

So, she doesn’t agree with the marriage institution? Questioned Richa about this and she shares an instance of a successful marriage of her parent. “No, it’s not that I don’t believe in marriage. My parents had a very successful marriage. I just think it’s too cumbersome for a woman. To change your name, then on passport, to keep making changes to your life. It’s slightly unfair, don’t you think?”

A discussion about the unequal marriage business we had before going on to the next issue… It was impossible to discuss the marriage topic without talking about Ali Fazal, actor and Chadha’s boyfriend. Chadha had quoted earlier, in an interview, that she would never date an actor eventually She fell in love with co-star Ali Fazal, on the sets of movie Fukrey.

Two people with similar backgrounds, two normal, regular people from middle-class upbringings, she said, had come together. They have found each other and they are happy. He added that not only were they drawn to one another, but they also knew each other on a fundamental level.

“The thing is, it’s nothing short of a miracle,” she said, “That two people who have similar backgrounds, two normal, regular people from middle-class upbringings got together. Two people with a similar value system got in this pool of showbiz. We found each other and we are happy with each other. I think that itself is a huge miracle. And when that happened, I think I couldn’t deny it that we were very…not just attracted to each other, but also understood each other on a fundamental level. It’s great you know.”

Besides this on the work front, Ali Fazal will be seen in’ Bhoot Police’ which will also star in the lead roles Saif Ali Khan and Fatima Sana Shaikh. Richa, on the other hand, will be seen next in the lead roles of Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s’ Panga’ playing the lead Kangana Ranaut and Jassie Gill. Neena Gupta also features in a crucial role.
