Deepika Padukone stands out as one of the industry’s top superstars and highest-paid actors. Her recent releases, ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan,’ have broken records at the box office, surpassing the 1000 crore rupees mark globally. The actress has earned immense acclaim and stardom for her remarkable talent and exceptional acting skills, most notably in legendary director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s films such as ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram-Leela,’ ‘Bajirao Mastani,’ and ‘Padmaavat.’ Padukone is also recognized for her outstanding performances in critically acclaimed movies like ‘Piku’ and ‘Chhapaak.’
A throwback video of Deepika discussing her entry into modeling was recently shared on Reddit, featuring several renowned fashion designers praising and admiring Padukone’s style and charisma.
“I started modeling about a year back. I wanted to pursue modeling professionally, but my parents insisted I complete my graduation first. However, the offers kept pouring in, and I couldn’t resist, so I started after finishing my 12th grade. I took a three-month break for my board exams because it’s a significant event. After that, I ventured into modeling, and I never looked back,” Deepika explained in the nostalgic clip.
Designer Rana Gill remarked, “She’s 19, very beautiful.” A voiceover then noted, “No other model has captivated the industry’s imagination like this teenager from Bangalore.”
Subsequently, designer Kiran Uttam Ghosh shared her thoughts on Deepika: “I love the way she carries our clothes. She has a great attitude and is willing to wear anything.” Nadine from Mac Cosmetics also chimed in, saying, “She’s very sweet, but she’s a vixen. So she’s very beautiful, but there is still something very fierce about her.”
Deepika’s father, Mr. Prakash Padukone, is one of India’s greatest badminton players, having represented the country at various international levels and won medals. Deepika herself is a skilled badminton player, but after her modeling career took off, she pursued acting as her profession. The actress made her debut in the melodramatic-romantic film ‘Om Shanti Om,’ starring Shah Rukh Khan and directed by Farah Khan in 2007.
